The Narl'eru' (The People or Players of stars) Some things you might want to know. Narl'eru'
are a curious people who often will ask a straight question that might embarrass For the most part the Narl'eru' are nice and well mannered people. They love jokes and word puns. Narl'eru' can be very serious that usually means there is something important going on and you need to take notes. The Narl'eru' are great diplomats and merchants. They also make great lawyers but the trials are often very short. They can tell who is lying. An angry Narl'eru' is not a good person to hang around because something or someone is going to go "Poof". Young Narl'eru' have less control over their emotions and often will over react. Example of this is if there is a possibility of some connection with an elf and the Narl'eru' gets a cross signal (such as the elf is interested in someone else) they might become very depressed and withdraw into themselves when rejected. Love between an Narl'eru' and a elf can become very complicated until both experience recognition. All Narl'eru' love to play games but at times often when playing against non Narl'eru' they win too much due to their special abilities. They will play by the rules and hate to cheat -but if it's not written in the rules, well. Never gamble with an Narl'eru' (think about it while they might not read your mind still most card players will concentrate on their cards - ie getting a mental picture -- see where this is going?) they will always win. That not to say Narl'eru' will not play gambling games with each other. They are very good a bluffing and some Narl'eru' gambling games last well over a century or so. To an Narl'eru' there is always a party somewhere they just have to find it. A drunk Narl'eru' is a very dangerous person to be around. (Just believe me on this one.) Please save everyone's peace of mind don't let a Narl'eru' drink. Yee! The Narl'eru' Message Base is here!!<----Click there! To view the Message base click here! Coming soon: D&D stats on Narl'eru' Some D&D notes: The Narl'eru' are a Neutral alignment people. They can be Lawful Neutral but never Chaotic Neutral. They can be Good alignment but that is making a long call here since that would force them to be honest all the time and could really hurt some feelings and cause problems if your having them read a un-honest person. They are not evil unless the Narl'eru' has gone insane and that would lead to a Narl'eru' babbling off in a corner by themselves. A Narl'eru' will not stay with or around an evil person. They will stay with good people. And no, no, no Narl'eru' will stay with or stand the company of a Fey, vampire or the undead. the Narl'eru' in the present of one is either drugged or a prisoner. The Narl’eru’ have an natural aptitude for energy forces but make very poor mages since it’s the natural energy force they can influence by using their mental powers and not a spell. They just do not have the patients to learn spells, the correct ways to pronounce magical words or the dogma of drawing magic runes and circles. Nor can they control it enough to use just a tiny amount. It's pretty much all or nothing. They also feel if they cannot use their mind control alone it’s just not worth bothering about to them. So they can move and play with the natural energy forces of fire but in they are under the age of 1,000 don’t ask them to use it to light a candle instead they are more likely to blast a crater and vaporize the candle alone with the person holding it. They can to a point tap into the energy forces around them and use it to enhance their skills and abilities but this does have it's limits. They do make very excellent psi (Duh), clerics, druids and bards. They are so so rangers. They are rather useless as fighters (see below) but make great archers. They are great merchants and diplomats truth seers. A Narl’eru’ is a natural expert archer they can kill fey and the undead quickly with extremely accurately, but will shy away from swords and other hand weapons. Most Narl’eru’ are very peaceful people and would rather flee than fight. They will fight if cornered. That is not to say they cannot become very skilled at hand weapons in many cases they are experts but due to the physical close contact and emotions required from both fighters it will cause them to mentally overload and in many causes they will see and feel the other’s pain and death. This could easily kill them at the very least damage their mental state. Exception here is any Nar'eru' from the house of Ver'Quee'ai. They can use any close fighting weapon and not be bothered by the contact.
This site has facts, stories and information about the Nar'eru'. Feel free to explore this interesting race. If you would like to help in the development of the race please send me info and if it fits I'll post it and give you credit. |
